I am going to visit Sri Lanka. Will my Smartphone work there?

All kinds of Smartphones including the iPhone will work perfectly in Sri Lanka with the local carrier or through the roaming mode. You decide what mode your mobile phone will work. Moreover under the roaming mode with any of the Sri Lanka mobile phone carrier, you will get a big bill. Roaming charges will be higher than your normal phone's monthly bill. Meanwhile you can get a Sri Lanka SIM card if your phone is a tri band mobile phone or have GSM 900 bandwidth. At the BIA, Colombo Airport you can buy new SIM card suitable for your device or can select a local E-SIM from a local carrier. Your phone must be an unlocked one with the carrier of your own country. Before to leave your home country get it unlocked from your carrier. Otherwise get a secondary Smartphone (Burner Phone) insert the new SIM and to make calls and access Internet. (With any of the available Sri Lanka SIM card.)
