Calling Sri Lanka Mobile Phones.

Calling the Sri Lanka Mobile Phone is very easy from another country, and the only difference is don't use 0 after the country code.
If you are calling 077xxxxxxx, then you must dial 009477xxxxx omitting the 0.
CDMA phones which are operating with the wireless services are used by Srilanka people. There are 4 registered operators. There numbers starts as in the following order.
2 Sri Lanka Telecom
4 Suntel
5 Lanka Bell
7 Dialog Telekom

Mobile phone service providers are now very famous in Sri Lanka. Nearly 6 million mobile phones are in use there, where 3 G service also available enabling the people to call and receive video calls in by their hand phones.

72 Tigo (Formally was celltel)
77 Dialog GSM
78 Hutchison
75 Bharti Airtel (Expected to start operation in January 2009)

Most of the wireless services charge a small amount for the calls per minute for the incoming international calls. But most of the people’s packages do allow them to have no fee for the incoming international calls. State controlled Sri Lanka Telecom provides the larger number of phone lines to customers. There is no charge from them for the incoming international calls to their customers.
