Cheap Calling Cards.

Cheap calling cards which are also popularly known as phone cards used to be sold as pre paid ones and these ones allows you to make cheap international phone calls to call people in Sri Lanka or can call people in foreign countries from Sri Lanka. These cards are mostly sold in the festive seasons to call their loving families to exchange seasonal greetings. Most of the sellers of these calling cards used to give discount near to the X-mas and New Year season. Be watchful as these cards are used to be valid for certain period only and will go null after the given period from the first use.

You can find plenty of ways to pay for the calls you make to Sri Lanka. One of it is the use of phone cards. Also these cards serve only one purpose of allow making calls but are called as Call cards, International calling cards, phone cards and calling cards buy the sellers.

In Srilanka all the telephone service providers and mobile phone service providers (Carriers) are selling their own multi purpose cards for their clients and general public. These cards are meant for calling local phone lines, IDD usage and as Chat card, reload card, internet usage card. Many of some these cards are scratch and one time useable cards. These cards have prepaid money value in any desirable currency. And can be bought from telephone companies, kiosks and online web sites using your credit card.

The pre paid IDD phone card in Srilanka comes as the size of a credit card with magnetic bar or memory chip or secret number under the scratch able aluminum paint coating. They can be bought in US$ 5, 10, and 20 and so on.

You must select phone card to find out which card is good for the country that you are going to call. Some cards may be very cheap to call USA, and if you use it to call UK, it may be very expensive and you will get less calling minutes. So you have to find out one for this purpose of calling. Also you can ask your friends or relatives to recommend you a web site or a card name that will give you plenty calling minutes for the money you are paying.

Normally they will charge you a high value for the first call connecting minute and it will become cheaper for the following minutes.So these types of cards should be used to talk continuously and once it is finished can dispose it. If you are not willing to make the call continuously, then you must find another phone card that can suit your need.

In Sri Lanka you can buy these phone cards in phone arcades, phone shops and private communication centers too. You can see the "Buy Phone Cards here" sign in most of these places. Also there are some shops in major cities sale the Gold card which is not a card but a user name and password for you to call from your internet connected PC to overseas friends through the VoIP services. Also you can use your credit card to purchase phone cards in the internet.
