Best way to make free and cheap calls to and from Sri Lanka is to use a phone adaptor as it don't require a computer but will need only a broadband or ADSL connection. The SIP phone adaptor can be purchased online in the internet for low price. Then you must buy credits of at least US$ 10 from any VoIP reseller company and must get their Proxy port information, user name and password.

Before using the phone adaptor, you must configure that phone adaptor through its web page. When you connect phone adaptor to the internet and phone and dial the given number will give you the web page for to configure. Then go to the web page in a computer and provide the proxy number and user name and the password and click "done".

Now your phone through the adaptor is ready to call. Most of the VoIP companies give you free calls to 40 destinations including the mobile phones. There are 90 days free call period and you must follow the fair user policy. After 90 days period the free call period is over and you will be charged VoIP rate for those calls you make.

Once the pre Paid money is finished you can recharge again through the same VoIP Company using your credit card.
